More than 100 Best Buy employees from across the country attending their annual Holiday Leadership Meeting volunteered to help sixth, seventh, eighth and selected special ed students learn how to assemble and code Kano computers. All students were allowed to keep their computer, creating huge smiles and hundreds of excited and engaged young minds. A new coding class has been formed at Los Alisos MiddleSchool to provide students with opportunities to continue to exercise their curiosities and engage in challenging projects.

The event was a collective effort from the Best Buy Foundation, Break A Difference Foundation, Nordstrom, YWCA of North Orange County, and LosAlisos Middle School led by Mr. Brian Jones. This event was part of a joint commitment to positively impact inner city, Title I, low income students and provide opportunities to develop tech skills that will help them prepare for post-secondary education and careers.
